At Big Fat Lye, our handcrafted soaps are made using the traditional cold process method. Fine ingredients are blended in small batches and poured into wooden molds. After saponification is complete, the blocks are cut into bars and put onto curing racks for several weeks. The result is a pure, gentle soap.

We use 100% vegetable fats of the highest quality. Our soaps are not made using fragrance oils. They are scented with pure essential oils (plant-derived) from all over the world. Our soaps are finished by adding clays, dried flower blossoms, herbs and grains. Soaps average five ounces per bar, varying slightly in size and shape as they are hand cut. They are simply wrapped to expose their natural beauty and aroma

Our large selection of soaps offer a wide range of aromatherapeutic properties. The soaps create a rich creamy lather, and rinse clean, leaving behind skin that feels and smells incredible.

These soaps are a wonderful alternative to commercial soaps which contain strong detergents and other ingredients which can exacerbate many skin conditions. In addition to the purity of our soaps, the naturally-occuring high glycerine content makes it ideal for all skin types.
